What Is KPV? Peptide Identity, Research and COAs

· Javier Rodriguez

KPV is a three-residue peptide with the sequence Lys-Pro-Val: lysine, proline and valine. It corresponds to the C-terminal tripeptide sequence of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (alpha-MSH). A short sequence still requires precise material identification and batch documentation when used in laboratory research.

Vertex Labs supplies KPV 10 mg research peptide as a lyophilized material. Review the product specifications and the report associated with the selected lot in the COA directory.

What does KPV research examine?

A 2008 study by Dalmasso and colleagues examined KPV uptake through the PepT1 transporter, inflammatory signaling in intestinal epithelial and immune cell models, and outcomes in two mouse models of colitis. The researchers reported reduced inflammatory signaling and cytokine expression under the conditions tested.

The study used laboratory cell systems and mice; human-derived cells do not make an experiment a human clinical trial. These findings do not establish a treatment benefit in people or validate a commercial KPV vial. They also do not test the multi-component KLOW blend.

How to identify KPV research material

Start with the full material specification rather than the abbreviated name alone. Record the stated sequence, terminal form, any counterion information supplied, labeled vial amount and lot number. Compare those details with the analytical report relevant to that sample.

The stated 10 mg presentation describes the individual KPV product listing. A lot-specific analytical result is a separate measurement; read its method, units and sample identification before interpreting it. Do not substitute a figure from another batch.

KPV alone vs KPV in KLOW

The KLOW 80 mg blend lists GHK-Cu 50 mg, BPC-157 10 mg, TB-500 10 mg and KPV 10 mg. Although KPV appears in both listings, a vial containing KPV alone and a four-component blend are different research materials.

Choose documentation for the formulation actually under review. A report for standalone KPV does not verify KLOW, and evidence about an individual component does not establish the effects of the combined formulation. Our research peptide blend comparison lists the labeled composition of KLOW, GLOW, Wolverine and CJC-1295 No DAC + Ipamorelin.

What to check in a KPV COA

  • Lot match: compare the identifier on the vial with the report’s sample or batch identification.
  • Material match: confirm whether the document concerns KPV alone or a blend.
  • Test scope: read the methods and reported results. Identity, purity and quantity measurements answer different questions.
  • Project requirements: request clarification where an assay needs information that the available report does not provide.

Use the testing standards page for the site’s documentation framework. A published paper is not a batch certificate, and a COA should not be treated as evidence for an unreported test.

Frequently asked questions

What does KPV stand for?

The letters identify the residues lysine, proline and valine, written as Lys-Pro-Val.

Is KPV the same product as KLOW?

No. The standalone KPV listing contains one named peptide. KLOW lists four components and requires its own formulation and batch review.

Where can I find KPV 10 mg specifications and documentation?

Visit the KPV product page for the presentation, material specifications and batch documentation. Match the report to the lot you are evaluating.
